Loving-Kindness Meditation

Metta bhavana, or loving-kindness meditation, is a method of developing compassion. It comes from the Buddhist tradition, but it can be adapted and practiced by anyone; loving-kindness meditation is essentially about cultivating love. In this session, we will talk about the importance of compassion for yourself and others, then be guided through a loving kindness meditation.
No meditation experience required.

Relaxation Meditation

Why is relaxation important to your health?
Stress stimulates the nervous system to keep the “fight or flight” mechanism in place. When the body suffers chronic stress, every system ends up out of balance leading to issues such as headaches, foggy mind, insomnia, high blood pressure and depression. 
Relaxation meditation is designed to cultivate calm in the body to allow the system to rest and digest. When the body can return to homeostasis, the nervous system gets a break allowing you to feel calmer, lighter and relaxed.

Chakra Meditation

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning disk or wheel. The body contains chakra energy centers that are like vortexes for energy coming into the body, leaving the body and maintaining the energetic body. In chakra meditation, we will focus on an energy center to bring awareness to the area to assist with healing and balancing.

Guided Visualization Meditation

7:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Guided visualization meditation is a type of meditation where mental images are used to help promote peace and calm. In this class you will follow along with a description of a place or image to help promote relaxation and healing.
